Friday, May 31, 2013: On the Way to Williams, Arizona:

We left early for the 240-mile trek to Kingman, Arizona, our one stop on the way to Williams.  That was good because we had a tire problem.  Halfway between Mesquite and Las Vegas (in the middle of nowhere, that is), our tire monitor signaled that the right-rear tire on our trailer was losing air.  We pulled off I-15 at Exit 40, and determined that the tire was quickly going flat.  Becky hopped on the phone for AAA, and help arrived within an hour.

The man put on the spare, and directed us to the nearest tire shop to take care of the problem tire---the Firestone store on Craig Road in North Las Vegas.  The consensus was that the old tire did not just have a hole; rather, the tread was separating.  That meant buying a new tire, of course.  By the time we got back on the road, we had lost about four hours.  Nevertheless, we arrived at the Ft. Beale RV Park in plenty of time.  They gave us our favorite site there, across from the pool.  The town of Kingman is on historic Route 66!

We realized that the tire monitor had done exactly what we bought it for, and it undoubtedly saved us from a second ruined tire and at least one ruined wheel.  That means it has more than paid for itself already.
It was in the 90s in Kingman, so we just relaxed, having yummy food from the nearby Panda Express for dinner, and prepared to leave the next morning for Williams.
